Better thinking, better results

As much as I hate to agree with Sean Hannity, I think he was spot-on when he aired an audio clip of Nick Berg getting decapitated. He gave his millions of listeners adequate warning and plenty of time to tune out, down to a ten second countdown. The New York Post thought otherwise. I still can't believe the "shocking" abuse photos are generated more press than a DECAPITATION video. Lynndie England, 21, has apparently started giving interviews, and is clinging to her claim that she was ordered to smile like an idiot and point at the exposed genitals of one of the men in the naked iraqui-lineup. I'm not sure of the date of her trial, but it's only going to get trashier when she takes the stand, 9 months pregnant with a wifebeating soldier's (14 years her senior) prisonsex lovechild. I can't wait for the porno spoof. There's a shootout in CT tonight!!!

Franken Vs. Coulter May 14, 2004 By ROGER CATLIN, Courant Staff Writer Cautious party hosts would avoid inviting Al Franken and Ann Coulter to the same shindig. That doesn't dissuade the Connecticut Forum from inviting the outspoken members of the political extremes to hash out their ideas tonight at the Bushnell. Though Franken and Coulter have often written with invective about the other -- they have rarely appeared together. It's been promoted like a prizefight that promptly sold out. Here's a tale of the tape of the two contenders:

Occupation Al Franken: liberal satirist Ann Coulter: conservative pit bull Born Al: 1951 Ann: 1961 (or 1963) Hails from Al: Minnesota Ann: Connecticut Trademark Al: Glasses, grin Ann: Hair, legs, smirk Book about lies Al: "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right" Ann: "Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right" Books with portly targets Al: "Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations" Ann: "High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton" Less incendiary titles Al: "Oh, The Things I Know!: A Guide to Success, or, Failing That, Happiness" Ann: (none) Wrote foreword to Al: "Still More Bushisms" Ann: "Feminist Fantasies" Early gig Al: Writer for "Saturday Night Live" Ann: Clerked for Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals judge Mid-career highlight Al: Stuart Smalley feature film Ann: Litigator for the Center for Individual Rights Broadcast perch Al: Host, "The O'Franken Factor" radio show Ann: Recurring "Politically Incorrect" panelist Revels in Al: Strom Thurmond's private life Ann: Joe McCarthy's patriotism Provocative quote Al: "In an odd way, I blame Linda Tripp and Ann Coulter for 9/11." Ann: "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building." Own fib Al: Used Harvard stationery to solicit John Ashcroft for story about his abstinence vows. Ann: Conflicting birth dates on Connecticut and D.C. driver's licenses. Characterization of other Al: "Nutcase" Ann: "Head-injury boy" On whether they're friendly Al: "I was cordial for maybe a moment or two." Ann: "We are not friendly."

It wont be broacast live from either of the opponent's websites, but I think a transcript will be out on the Air America site in the very near future. Oh, one more thing... Catholics are being asked (indirectly) to not come up for communion unless they're mindless Bushies. No really...check it out. Unbelievable.
